Want to turn the mundane into a global nomadic vision? I highly recommend letting your mind “free-associate” when you wander to nearby places.

Trust me. A Starbucks, McDonald’s, or Wells Fargo drive-through can become a futuristic bazaar, souk, or agora. I took some local drive-through photos, and my mind spontaneously merged them with markets from afar. Engineered driveways, intercoms, and delivery windows? Bye-bye.

Inspired by my friend Mark Hinshaw’s recent article in Seattle’s Post Alle y (with his tried-and-true “My Hilltown Solves All” approach), my thoughts returned to Tangier some weeks ago and many other expat memories. I thought about an all-at-once property where people live and work, manufacture locally, and repurpose once-ho-hum paved spaces.

I now see the real estate moniker for my vision below: “where tradition meets innovation-a sustainable walk-through that honors people and progress.”
